Prijedor Health Center Management Under Investigation for Failed Vaccines

The District Public Prosecutor's Office in Prijedor has opened an investigation against Slobodan Javor, director of the Prijedor Health Center, and Milica Otković, head of HES.

According to Chief Prosecutor Mladen Mitrović, there are grounds for suspicion that Javor and Otković made omissions in the supervision and storage of vaccines.

They are accused of negligent performance of duty and failure to comply with health regulations during the pandemic.

The RS police previously entered the institution. They documented the situation and seized documents. All this was done on the order of the OJT Prijedor, where 1,360 doses of Sputnik V vaccine for revaccination of people over 65 years of age were lost. This was allegedly due to a power outage and a breach of the cold chain.

We remind you that the director of the institution, Slobodan Javor, offered his resignation but did not submit it. All this happened after criminal investigators, on the order of the District Public Prosecutor's Office, conducted an on-site investigation at the institution. Along with offering his resignation for moral reasons, Javor also presented shocking information. There were previous breaches of the cold chain, and there are suspicions of sabotage.

“This is not the first time that a breach of the vaccine cold chain has occurred at the Prijedor Health Center. This happened a year ago when the then-parliamentary majority, led by SNSD, dismissed the then-director of the Health Center, who was a DNS affiliate. At that time, the parliamentary majority, at the proposal of SNSD, appointed a new director. I want to emphasize that the then-director, an SNSD representative who was appointed, took office, and within a couple of weeks, a similar or identical situation occurred,” said Javor.
