Four police officers arrested for taking bribes

(Patria) - Police officers of the Directorate for Organized and Serious Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska, in cooperation with the Gradiška Police Administration, arrested four members of the Gradiška Police Administration with initials V. G., B. Š., N. D., and R. S. due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of "Receiving a bribe".

Police officers learned through social networks that there are grounds for suspicion that these police officers, during the night of March 22-23, 2020, while performing their duties and tasks within their jurisdiction as provided by the plan of the Republican Staff for Emergency Situations, received bribes from several truck drivers in order to forgive them for observed violations. All measures and actions are being taken under the supervision of the Republican Public Prosecutor's Office.

These individuals have been immediately suspended, and an initiative has been submitted to initiate disciplinary proceedings against them.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska thanks the citizens who cooperated with the police in shedding light on this criminal offense.
