Sead Heco Convicted of Tax Evasion, Nearly 700 Thousand KM Confiscated

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After accepting the Plea Agreement, the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo found Sead Heco and the legal entity „Hecoprom“ guilty of the prolonged criminal offense of tax evasion and improper allocation of legal entity funds.

Sead Heco was sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of 15,000 KM, while the legal entity „Hecoprom“ was fined 20,000 KM, which they are obliged to pay within three months of the verdict becoming final.

At the same time, the verdict confiscated the property benefit obtained through the criminal offense in the amount of 690,156.69 KM. The said property becomes the ownership of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Sead Heco was convicted because, from the beginning of 2009 to the beginning of 2014, in his capacity as director and responsible person in the company „Hecoprom”, he avoided paying taxes and contributions on salaries and income tax, and also approved the allocation of funds for purposes other than paying taxes and contributions, in the total amount of 690,156.69 KM. In this way, he enabled the company „Hecoprom“ to dispose of that money, thus acquiring illegal property benefit for it in the total amount of 690,156.69 KM, and thereby damaged the budget for the stated amount, the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of KS announced.
