(Patria) - At least two people were injured when police fired warning shots during last night's riots in the port city of Rotterdam, a Dutch police spokesman said.
Several hundred people gathered to protest the government's plan to restrict access to indoor spaces to those with a COVID pass, showing they are vaccinated or have recovered from infection.
During the clashes, protesters set fire to police vehicles and pelted police with stones, pyrotechnics and other objects, the BBC reports, as carried by N1.
The latest figures indicate a total of seven people were injured and at least 20 arrested during a night that the mayor of Rotterdam called an “orgy of violence”.
