Why does Bosnia and Herzegovina not have a single factory for the production of high-quality toys for children?

The Agency for Supervision of the Market of BiH recommended to parents that their children stop using the toy "My little pony". The toy contains chemical substances that are not permitted. These toys are produced in China. The importer for BiH is the company "AN & BER d.o.o. Brčko".

Three days earlier, the Agency issued an order to withdraw another toy from the BiH market. Also due to its questionable chemical composition. This is the children's doll "Baby doll". This toy is also produced in China. The importer for BiH is the company Basic Company d.o.o. from Široki Brijeg.

Thousands of toys for children, whose composition does not meet high European standards, are imported into BiH annually. Suspicious clothing and footwear are also imported.

Sejfudin Vila, owner of the company Muličićev rekord from Konjic, which produces wooden items using traditional wood carving, told NAP that it is a wonder that no one in BiH has come up with the idea to produce high-quality toys for children. The market is large. Children would get quality toys, and new jobs would be created in the country. Parents are always willing to provide the best for their child. Creative toys, which develop children's psychophysical abilities, are particularly trendy.

- A few years ago, I started a project to produce wooden toys for children. But it never fully took off because I have many other obligations - says Vila. He quickly became convinced that a toy production company could do well in BiH, as well as export to foreign markets.

- The only philosophy when making toys for children is that these toys must be one hundred percent safe, made from harmless materials. Preferably wood. And, at least we in Bosnia and Herzegovina have enough wood - says Vila.

A few years ago, he also conducted an interesting experiment. He painted about ten beehives with ecological paints from different manufacturers. The bee colonies were located on the island of Pelješac in Croatia. For two years, he monitored which hive had the best bee development and which hive produced the best honey.

- Bees do not tolerate any chemicals. They showed me which paint to use for coloring toys - says Vila.

- If you ask me which toys I would produce, make ten different toy shapes, distribute them to several kindergartens, and observe which toys the children play with the most. Then continue producing those shapes - says Vila.

Hundreds of disabled people in BiH could find employment in a company producing high-quality wooden toys, writes NAP.
