SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Council of the Appellate Court of Brčko District of BiH rendered a verdict by which it rejected the appeals filed by the defense of the accused and confirmed the first-instance verdict of the Basic Court of Brčko District of BiH in the criminal case against Damir Bulčević (NiP), a Member of the Assembly of Brčko District of BiH, for the criminal offense of forgery of a document.
By the first-instance verdict, the accused Damir Bulčević was found guilty of the criminal offense of forgery of a document, because in 2018, during the appointment process for the Head of the Inspectorate of Brčko District of BiH, he falsely confirmed the non-existence of a conflict of interest related to political engagement.
By doing so, he knowingly and intentionally, despite holding a position within the local organization of the Party of Democratic Action at the time, created, certified, and submitted a false statement to the competent authority, stating that he was not a member of political party bodies.
For the aforementioned criminal offense, he was sentenced to 30 (thirty) days in prison, which will not be executed if the accused commits a new criminal offense within one year, announced the spokesperson of the Judicial Commission of Brčko District, Dejan Nišić.
