Roads closed, part of the Adriatic Highway, ferries not running

In Lika, Gorski Kotar and the Croatian Littoral, numerous roads are closed due to stormy winds and snow, ferries on certain lines are not running, while in the interior there are numerous restrictions, the Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) announced.

On certain sections, driving is difficult due to packed snow on the roadway, and black ice is possible, especially on bridges and overpasses in the interior.

Due to winter conditions, winter equipment is mandatory on motor vehicles, and traffic is banned for trucks with trailers and semi-trailers on roads in parts of central Croatia, Lika and Gorski Kotar, including the state road on the Karlovac - Vaganac - Korenica - Udbina - Knin section, and through Gorski Kotar on the Karlovac - Zdihovo - Kikovica section.

Due to stormy winds and winter conditions, there is no free route towards Dalmatia and vice versa, towards the interior for trucks with trailers and semi-trailers.

HAK states that they are working with the company "Hrvatske ceste" to restore trafficability for freight traffic between Rijeka and Delnice as soon as possible.

The Adriatic Highway between Karlobag and Sveta Marija Magdalena, the Kvarner highway towards Rijeka, and the state road Gospić - Karlobag are closed to all traffic.

On the Rijeka - Zagreb highway between the Kikovica and Delnice interchanges and the Zagreb - Split highway between the Sveti Rok and Posedarje interchanges, only passenger vehicles are allowed due to stormy winds.

Drivers are advised not to travel without winter equipment.
