Acquittal sought for Orić and Muhić

The trial of Naser Orić and Sabahudin Muhić concluded today at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the closing statements of the defense attorneys, reports Patria News Agency.

The verdict will be delivered on October 6 this year. 

Attorneys Lejla Čović and Sabina Mehić requested acquittal for their clients, stating in their closing arguments that the BiH Prosecutor's Office had not unequivocally proven any of the three counts in the indictment for which Orić and Muhić are charged.

The two are accused of the direct murder of VRS members Slobodan Ilić, Milutin Milošević, and Mitar Savić in the area of eastern Bosnia at the beginning of the aggression against BiH in 1992. 

The Prosecutor's indictment is based on witness O1, whom attorney Čović revealed to be a witness for whom an arrest warrant was issued for violent behavior, and who has previously been convicted of 11 different criminal offenses, writes NAP.
