Detention requested for those arrested in Operation North

After questioning the suspects, the prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption will submit a proposal to the BiH Court for the detention of those suspected and arrested in Operation North, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Maksimović Radomir, born 01/09/1975 in Bijeljina, residing in Bijeljina, a citizen of BiH, Pajdaković Oliver, born 07/09/1973 in Sarajevo, residing in Višegrad, a citizen of BiH, Đurđić Boro, born 03/02/1960 in Draževići, residing in Višegrad, a citizen of BiH

These suspects are under investigation in a case that the BiH Prosecutor's Office and the RS MoI carried out in cooperation with the Federal Police and Judiciary of the Federal Republic of Germany, and it relates to the criminal offenses of smuggling weapons, ammunition and explosives from BiH to the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Concurrently with the searches and arrests in BiH, arrests and searches were carried out in Germany.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office proposes detention for the suspects for reasons described in Article 132, points b) and c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH, namely due to the risk that these suspects might obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence, or influence witnesses or accomplices if at liberty, and the risk that they might commit a new criminal offense or complete an ongoing one if at liberty.

Operation "North" represents a good example of international cooperation between the BiH Prosecutor's Office and judicial and police institutions in EU countries, all with the aim of detecting and prosecuting perpetrators of cross-border crime.

The aforementioned suspects are under investigation for the criminal offenses of unauthorized trafficking of weapons, military equipment and dual-use products under Article 193 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

A proposal for detention will be submitted to the BiH Court.
