(Patria) – The United Arab Emirates sent medical supplies to Palestinians on Tuesday to combat the coronavirus.
An Etihad Airways plane with humanitarian aid landed in Tel Aviv without passengers, which is a precedent in itself as it is the first public Emirates flight to Israel.
Except for Jordan and Egypt, Arab countries do not have official relations with Israel. However, recently, Gulf countries like the Emirates have been improving relations with Israel because they have something in common – concern about Iran, reports the British Guardian.
The Emirates news agency WAM reported that 14 tons of medical supplies were delivered, intended to 'support efforts to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and its consequences for the Occupied Palestinian Territories'.
Israel controls access to the Palestinian Territories.
