House of Representatives Adopts Resolution on Palestine Demanding an Immediate Cessation of All Hostilities in the Gaza Strip

(Patria) - The House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament adopted at today's 31st session the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Salaries and Allowances in BiH Institutions, according to which the calculation of salaries would apply from January 1st for the current year.

These amendments also stipulate that competent institutions ensure the retroactive payment of salary differences if the budget for the next fiscal year is not adopted by December 31st of the previous year.

The explanation states that the proposed amendments would rectify the currently poor position of employees in BiH institutions who are disadvantaged by the failure to adopt the budget within the legal deadline.

Deputies will vote on the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Asylum, which allows a person who has applied for asylum access to the labor market after three months, instead of the current nine months, in the second round, as there was no entity majority today, nor for the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Industrial Design.

In the second reading, the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Administrative Procedure, proposed by the Council of Ministers of BiH, was adopted. These amendments will simplify and modernize the administrative procedure, and shorten the time for providing services to citizens and business entities.

The amendments to the law introduce a novelty in the procedural-legal part, so that all decisions in the administrative procedure before the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH would be final in the first instance, and an appeal against these decisions in the administrative procedure would no longer be possible, but an administrative dispute could be directly initiated before the Court of BiH.

A motion for conclusions condemning the attack on MP Branislav Borenović was also adopted.

The Bill on Amendments to the Law on Labor in BiH Institutions was adopted, which stipulates that fathers have the right, after the birth of a child, to paternity leave lasting ten working days, or 15 working days for twins, triplets, and every subsequent child.

A Resolution on Palestine was also adopted, demanding an immediate and unconditional cessation of all hostilities in the blocked Gaza Strip.

The motion for conclusions obliging the BiH Ombudsman and the BiH Institutions Audit Office to take urgent measures for the implementation of the conclusions from the 27th urgent session of this House also received the support of the deputies.

Deputies also supported today the motion for a resolution on the protection of civilians, humanitarian aid, and freedom of media reporting in Palestine, proposed by MP Saša Magazinović.
