Why is Faćo in custody, but Ramo is not: Konaković's protégé Isak caught in criminal act of forgery, will there be an investigation?

It is not the first time that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and President of the People and Justice party, Elmedin Konaković, has come before the public and stated that he stands behind personnel decisions such as that of Ramo Isak. Konaković publicly assumed political responsibility for appointing Ramo Isak to the position of Federal Minister of Interior. On several occasions, he emphasized that he would bear the consequences if Isak did not perform his job well.

Today, it is therefore entirely clear that Konaković must also bear responsibility for the actions of Minister Isak. Not only verbally, as we are taught by the irresponsible actors of the Troika in the Sarajevo Canton, who continue to play with power even after a tragedy with fatal consequences and have not resigned, but also criminal responsibility.

Ramo Isak crossed the line of legality by forging signatures required for his party's candidacy, which is why the Strength of the People party will not be able to enter the race for the State Parliament. When, where, how, and whose signatures Isak forged must be investigated by the competent authorities after the finality of the decision establishing that the forgery occurred.

If Amir Pašić Faćo has been lying in custody for months due to the imposed law on verbal delict on social networks, adopted by the Troika and the HDZ BiH, then the Minister of Interior, who engages in behind-the-scenes actions, must also be investigated for forgery, as well as possible misuse of other people's data. It should not be forgotten that his son is the head of the prison in Zenica, and from some testimonies we have already heard that there were political pressures there. The competent authorities, along with the investigation into the forgery of signatures, must also check whose signatures those are.

Therefore, if Faćo is in custody for a verbal delict, and the decision of the BiH Central Election Commission that Ramo Isak forged signatures has been confirmed, then Elmedin Konaković is also politically responsible for this case. Because Isak is Konaković's solution at the head of the FBiH Ministry of Interior, and it is obvious that the support of the head of state diplomacy was an incentive for him to try to secure political power by all means.

How emboldened he was by Konaković's support, Isak in April this year sent messages related to another criminal case in which he was part of the investigative actions:

"I am not afraid of anyone, you can do nothing to me. You can pack up, and after October we will form such a government that we will deal with you who are trying to pack up," said Isak.

Isak's message is a kind of repackaged version of Konaković's words from 2022: "We will sweep you away when we take power," which they did, primarily towards patriotic personnel in state institutions. However, Ramo goes a step further, imagining, based on the backing of the NiP, that after the 2026 elections he will form a government, and then persecute those who investigate him.

It is increasingly clear that Isak is following in the footsteps of another protégé of Elmedin Konaković. Nenad Nešić became the Minister of Security of BiH without any particular merit, while Konaković boasted that they had "pulled Nešić through the eye of a needle." However, they could not pull him under the radar of the investigation, so he ended up as a suspect for participation in organizing a criminal group for receiving gifts and bribes. Nešić was a kind of prototype of Isak from the RS, but it remains unclear why he ended up in custody as a suspect, while Isak has not yet.

Konaković today wisely remains silent because someone has obviously made him aware of the price he could pay by standing behind potentially criminal figures in politics. However, this will not nullify his earlier statements, because Konaković, during his outgoing term, liked to visit his protégé Isak and plan "statesmanlike" activities with him.

Whether Isak has paid the price of those plans or whether the judiciary will do its job and launch an investigation remains to be seen. Although, given the kind of judiciary the Troika is creating, it will be good if they are not burdened with forgery there as well.
