Earned over two million Swiss francs, but did not pay taxes

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Jugoslav Ilić (41) from Brčko was sentenced to five years in prison for tax evasion amounting to over 300 thousand convertible marks.

"The Prosecutor's Office of Brčko District accused Ilić of evading income tax earned directly from abroad as an individual from 2009 to 2012. He is charged with failing to prepare and submit an annual tax return to the District Tax Administration, nor did he provide proof to that authority that he had filed such a return abroad. Therefore, he is accused of evading more than 300 thousand KM in taxes on an income amount that, over four years, exceeded two million Swiss francs and 200 thousand euros," the prosecutor's office stated.

The prosecutor's office submitted the indictment against Ilić for the criminal offense of tax evasion to the court, which convicted him. In addition to five years in prison, he was also ordered to pay the evaded tax amount of 318,310.84 KM into the district budget.

Like the prosecutor's office, he can appeal the verdict before the Appellate Court of Brčko District.
