Employees of private betting shops help others while fighting for their own jobs

It has been almost a year since groups of employees of private betting shops appeared on Facebook, where several thousand people are fighting to save their jobs. Despite all the struggles, they also engage in daily humanitarian efforts.

Namely, employees of the private company “Sport Plus“ d.o.o., i.e., the Sports Betting Shop “Sport Plus“, besides being active in groups where they daily express support for the company's operations and employers, have also united in a group called “SportPlus radnice – humanitarne akcije“ (SportPlus female employees – humanitarian actions).

This is a group where all employees of this company, as well as their friends, family, acquaintances, and all well-intentioned people, unite and organize monthly humanitarian aid actions.

- We have already had several successful actions. We did not choose who to help, but rather decided on the first submitted proposals, which any group member can send us. We helped Kenan, Almedina, Elena, but before them, many others who needed help… - state the female employees of the betting shop “Sport Plus“, adding that they will continue to actively conduct humanitarian actions and collect money for those who cannot afford treatment, basic necessities, and the like.

Through these actions, they collect several hundred marks each month and are happy that they still have their jobs and can set aside funds to help others.

Let us remind you that employees of this company, as well as other private companies dealing with games of chance in FBiH, have been trying to fight for their basic rights and protect their jobs for almost 12 months. The problem arose when amendments to the Law on Games of Chance were proposed, which impose taxation on players, not on companies dealing with games of chance.

In this way, as betting shops believe, it favors foreign bookmakers who have privileged positions in our country, and at the same time, it “drives players to choose betting at places where they will not pay taxes, which are foreign betting shops”.
