Deputy Prime Minister Putin Announces Russian Military Bases in BiH's Neighborhood

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Rogozin, in charge of armaments, visited Serbia and gave an interview to some pro-Russian news affiliates. The increasing rapprochement between Serbia and Russia is evident. One of the questions was about Russian bases in Serbia, including the recent offer by director Emir Kusturica for Russians to place missiles in his yard.

- That is not a question for us at all, it is a question for the Serbs. How do you consider it necessary to ensure your security... If there is a serious proposal, a swift reaction will follow. I highly respect Kusturica and I am a supporter of his work. But he said that as an artist. It is his metaphor as an artist – that he is ready to give his home for the deployment of a military base.

What does that mean, Rogozin asks himself and adds:

- It means that Serbs need Russia's support, and we understand that well and treat that memory with respect and act accordingly. And in the future, we will do everything as a reliable and great ally of Serbia.
