Deputy Minister of Defence: Robinson is talking nonsense, BiH has proven itself in the fight against terrorism!

Deputy Minister of Defence Emir Suljagić called the statement of the First Deputy High Representative in BiH, David Robinson, who said that „BiH is not on the right side when it comes to the fight against terrorism and its financing“ as utter nonsense, reports the Patria News Agency.

- That statement is utter nonsense and it is hard to say whether it is more foolish or more irresponsible. BiH currently has a contingent of soldiers, members of the Armed Forces of BiH, who are participating in a peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan under the NATO flag.

On one occasion alone, by decision of the Presidency of BiH, this country donated more than 500 tons of ammunition for the fight against ISIL. And while our soldiers are risking their lives on the front lines in the war against terrorism, irresponsible international officials here, for the enormous sums they receive, are harming BiH, Suljagić points out and adds:  

- If the reason for that statement is Moneyval, as he said, then let Robinson say who is responsible, instead of everything being billed to the citizens of this country.  

In a statement to Dnevni avaz, Robinson said that there is no “grey zone” when it comes to the fight against terrorism and its financing, and warned that BiH must decide where it stands – whether it will be part of the fight against terrorism or will be the weakest link.

He also added that the Moneyval issue is disturbing, and BiH is perhaps the only or one of the few countries that Moneyval has reported to the Financial Action Task Force at all.
