Laws on Police to be Adopted Urgently, MUP KS Lacks 300 Officers

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the 29th working session of the KS Assembly, held online, it was adopted that the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Police Officers of Canton Sarajevo be considered under an urgent procedure, as well as the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Police Officers of Canton Sarajevo under an urgent procedure.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of KS, Ismir Jusko, stated that these laws will enable greater efficiency in the work of MUP KS, and will also speed up the recruitment of police officers, of whom there is currently a shortage of 300.

Assembly member Aljoša Čampara stated that he has never received an answer regarding his proposals for the same laws that he submitted for procedure. The Speaker of the KS Assembly, Mirza Čelik, replied that the laws are not on the agenda because he has not received the opinions of the government or the Legislative-Legal Commission. Čelik later stated that there was a session of the Legislative-Legal Commission, but the proposer did not appear, and the material was not considered.

Čampara stated that it is not fair that he receives no answer, because assembly members have the right to propose laws.

"If there had been no politicking, we could have had this three months ago, and we could have already announced competitions now," said Čampara.

Prime Minister Mario Nenadić requested that the agreement between the KS Government and Grads be considered as the first item, as Grads is in a difficult situation with blocked accounts, which hinders the company's operations, but there were only 16 votes in favor, which is not enough. After that, a half-hour break was declared.
