Zaimović: Session on Rules of Procedure on Tuesday, law on economic aid within reasonable time

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - I have ordered a session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH to be scheduled for Tuesday, after receiving a letter from the Institute for Public Health regarding necessary measures and after we were told by the Crisis Staff of the KS that we would receive permission to hold the session, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the FBiH, Mirsad Zaimović, confirmed to Patria.

"I have reiterated the agenda from the session that was scheduled for March 31 (12th regular session), which is the consideration of the Proposal of the Decision on Amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament. The goal of the amendments is to enable future sessions to be held without direct contact, i.e., via an online system," adds the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the FBiH.

The session is planned to be attended by 55 representatives to ensure a high level of health protection.

When asked if we can expect the Draft Law of the FBiH Government on 10 measures to help the economy at Tuesday's session, Zaimović says: "That depends on the degree of consensus. If there is a high degree of consensus, it is not excluded that the law will also be considered on Tuesday."

He notes that the procedure depends on the FBiH Government.

"The FBiH Government, as the proposer, decides on the procedure. In my opinion, the Draft Law will go through an urgent procedure. In case it is not considered at Tuesday's session, we will try to hold a session as soon as possible. Perhaps by the end of the week, I cannot guarantee, but certainly within a reasonable time," says Zaimović.

He adds that this is an unknown situation for the Parliament's leadership and, when asked about the possibility of submitting amendments and debating in an online version of the session, he says: "We must ensure that amendments and proposals can be submitted. Whether the system will allow it and how to enable it, we do not know because we are facing this for the first time. We truly have no experience with this, so we will have to adapt," Zaimović told the Patria agency.
