Demands of the Union of Mine Workers to the FBiH Government and Elektroprivreda BiH

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Management Board of the Independent Union of Mine Workers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent a request to the Prime Minister of the FBiH Government, Fadil Novalić, the Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry, Nermin Džindić, the General Director of Elektroprivreda BiH, Bajazit Jašarević, and the Managements of RMU Zenica and Breza, to find a way to overcome the very difficult situation and current problems during the day, with special emphasis on the Zenica Coal Mines Public Company, where workers have been on a hunger strike since yesterday.

On that occasion, the Management Board of the Independent Union of Mine Workers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina once again submitted in writing the demands presented by the members of the Presidency of the Management Board of the Independent Union of Mine Workers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the meeting held yesterday during the Protest in front of the FBiH Government building.

The demands of the Management Board of the Independent Union of Mine Workers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are as follows:

1. It is demanded from the authorities to define a solution today, September 11, 2019, which will enable the application of the Collective Agreement on Rights and Obligations of Employers and Workers in the Mining Sector in the FBiH in the Zenica Coal Mines Public Company and Breza.

2. It is demanded from the FBiH Government to immediately initiate the process of analyzing the quality of management of coal mines Public Companies within the Concern.

3. It is demanded that the FBiH Government order the Management of JP Elektroprivreda BiH and the managements of all coal mines Public Companies in the FBiH to conduct an analysis of the organization and systematization of workplaces in all coal mines, and to initiate the process of developing more efficient, operative organizations and systematizations of workplaces that will ultimately offer and lead to the possibility of higher quality and more successful business operations in coal mines Public Companies in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

4. It is demanded from the FBiH Government to review the functionality of the Elektroprivreda BiH Concern, the relationships within the Concern itself, and the wholesale price of coal delivered from coal mines in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Elektroprivreda BiH.

5. Given that the current Collective Agreement on Rights and Obligations of Employers and Workers in the Mining Sector in the FBiH expires today, September 11, 2019, the Management Board of the Independent Union of Mine Workers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina demands from the social partners to conclude the negotiation process for harmonizing the new Collective Agreement on Rights and Obligations of Employers and Workers in the Mining Sector in the FBiH by the end of September 2019 at the latest.
