Request for engagement of BiH Armed Forces helicopter to extinguish fire on the slopes of Rujište

The Operational-Communications Center BiH-112 of the Ministry of Security of BiH received a request from the Federal Administration of Civil Protection of FBiH for the engagement of a helicopter of the Armed Forces of BiH for extinguishing a large forest fire on the slopes of Rujište near Mostar (area Prevoj-Guvnine), reports the news agency Patria.
 
The fire has engulfed about 15 hectares of land, overgrown with grass, low vegetation and fir forest, with a tendency to spread into areas covered with beech and fir forest.

Currently, in the area of Rujište at the localities Guvnine and Prevoj, about 20 members of the Forestry, PVJ Mostar and DVD Rujište are trying to prevent further spread of the fire. However, the inaccessibility of the terrain and the danger of leftover mines prevent complete localization of the fire, making extinguishing from the air (by helicopter) necessary.

The Ministry of Security of BiH will, in this case as well, coordinate further activities with the Armed Forces of BiH in order to provide support to firefighters on the ground as soon as possible, it was announced from the Ministry of Security of BiH.
