Fun for the youngest at the playground in Logavina

A gathering was held today at the children's playground in front of the Logavina Cultural Center with participants from kindergartens “Bajka” and “Biseri” from Stari Grad. With animations by Mickey and Minnie, music, dance, sweets, and numerous entertainment activities, the children also had the opportunity for face painting at the end of the gathering. This marked the official opening of the children's playground in Logavina Street, which is the result of good sister-city relations between the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo and the Municipality of Karpoš from Macedonia, reports Patria.

- At the suggestion of the Mayor of the Municipality of Karpoš, Stevčo Jakimovski, the Municipal Council of that Macedonian municipality unanimously decided to finance this project with the amount of 15,000 euros, and the Municipality of Stari Grad prepared all the project documentation in a very short period, and the works were completed within the planned deadline - said Selma Velić, Head of the Local Development Sector, through which this cooperation was realized.

The new playground consists of two parts. The first part has a rubber surface (rubber tiles) on which a slide and two swings are installed. The second part is covered with gravel and has a metal seesaw and two spring riders placed there. The playground also has two wooden benches for rest and two trash bins.

The playground in Logavina Street is open, and signs indicate that children up to the age of six may only use it under adult supervision. Also, by gifting this playground to the youngest, the Municipality sent a message:

“...We are gifting you this playground for play, fun, and socializing. Let's be responsible and protect the playground from destruction. For a more beautiful present and future for our children! “

The Municipality of Stari Grad and the Municipality of Karpoš signed an Agreement on Twinning and Cooperation in May 2011.
