No one held accountable for the crime in Lozje: Women and children among 40 killed

GORAŽDE, (Patria) - As part of the commemoration of the Day of Remembrance for civilian victims of aggression, prisoners of war, and women in the past war, the 22nd of May – the Day of Remembrance for the crimes and suffering in this settlement, as well as the remembrance of 40 fellow citizens who were brutally killed by Serbian military and paramilitary units exactly 27 years ago after occupying this place for 18 days, was marked today in the Podlozje settlement. The Serbian forces "invaded" the settlement and mercilessly killed the innocent population.

Numerous delegations, families of the murdered, the "Goražde" Association of Prisoners, a delegation of the Association of Prisoners of BiH, representatives of civilian victims of aggression and women in the liberation war, a delegation of the City of Goražde, the Government of BPK Goražde, and the Patriotic Movement of Goražde laid flowers at the memorial.

No one has been held accountable for this crime 27 years later. The remains of the victims were found in a mass grave, while the remains of a number of victims are still being searched for today. Among the murdered victims were a pregnant woman and an 11-year-old girl.
