Detention requested for those arrested in Operation Duga 2, female suspect released

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton has proposed to the Municipal Court a one-month detention for four suspects who were arrested yesterday in Operation Duga 2, confirmed to the media by Azra Bavčić, spokesperson for the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton.

"The female suspect was released after questioning. Detention was proposed for all due to the risk that, if at liberty, they could influence witnesses, conceal evidence, and the risk of reoffending, while for the citizen of North Macedonia, detention was also proposed due to the risk of flight," Bavčić said.

As part of the said operation, searches were conducted at six locations in the areas of Sarajevo, East Novo Sarajevo, Visoko, and Breza, and five individuals with initials A.M. (1988.), A.V. (1985.), B.K. (1998.), and A.B. (1989.), as well as a citizen of the Republic of North Macedonia with initials K.V. (1983.), were deprived of liberty. They are suspected of having, in the period from December 13, 2018, in the area of the Sarajevo and Zenica-Doboj cantons, placed the narcotic drugs "Amphetamine" and "Cannabis Sativa L" into circulation with the aim of obtaining unlawful property gain.

During the search, a certain quantity of an unknown substance resembling the narcotic drugs "Amphetamine" and "Cannabis Sativa L" was found, along with equipment and precision scales, automatic weapons, ammunition, telephone sets and SIM cards, and other items originating from or related to the said criminal offense.
