Sentenced to 14 years and 11 months in prison for murder of a girl in Stup

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo found Edvin Avdić guilty of the criminal offenses of murder, possession of narcotic drugs, and illegal possession of weapons or explosive materials.

By the first-instance verdict, he was sentenced to a unified prison term of 14 years and 11 months.

The defendant's detention was extended after the verdict was pronounced.

Edvin Avdić is charged with, on October 12, 2019, at around 4:40 AM, near the entrance to the "Hecoprom" market, after a brief verbal altercation with the victim S.D., firing one shot from a pistol at close range into the area of her right forehead, resulting in her death.

During his arrest, a firearm and the narcotic drug cannabis were found on the defendant.
