Account Blockade Announced for Tomorrow: Konaković Begs Tax Administration to Spare GRAS

Whether the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will block GRAS's account depends solely on the Tax Administration.

Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Dino Konaković told reporters today that the Government of Sarajevo Canton sent a letter to the Federal Government to try to find a solution to the problems in GRAS, and that now it depends solely on the FBiH Government and the Tax Administration whether GRAS's account will be blocked, Patria reports.

The Tax Administration of FBiH will block the accounts of several companies with a majority state capital share on April 20. Among them are: GRAS, Railways of the Federation, Hidrogradnja, Zrak, Pretis, and several other companies.

Taxpayers based in Sarajevo Canton, whose founders are the Governments of FBiH and Sarajevo Canton, owe the Federation Tax Administration more than 415 million BAM in public revenues and taxes. GRAS alone owes around 116 million BAM.

Konaković said he hopes for a stabilization of the situation in GRAS by the end of the year. This does not mean that GRAS will start operating in the black, but the losses could be bearable, Patria reports.
