In six months, RS police fined over 18,000 drivers for not using seatbelts

If you are driving on the roads through Republika Srpska, strictly fasten your seatbelt. The police will not tolerate this traffic violation. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is organizing the „Seatbelt“ campaign to reduce the number of traffic participants who do not use seatbelts.

In the first six months of this year, 66 people died in traffic accidents in the territory of Republika Srpska, 295 sustained serious bodily injuries, and 1,226 sustained minor bodily injuries. MUP analyses show that a large number of them did not use seatbelts while in the vehicle, and that the percentage of seatbelt use by drivers and front-seat passengers is still far lower than the percentage of seatbelt use in neighboring countries.
