The Association of Farmers of FBiH will not agree to allocate just over two percent of the total budget for 2016 from the budget of the Federation of BiH, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
The FBiH Government, in the Draft Budget of FBiH for the next year, which amounts to just over 2.5 billion KM, has planned just over 2 percent for agricultural incentives, which farmers' associations have assessed as unacceptable and a very bad policy of Prime Minister Fadil Novalić's government.
The governments of the Federation, as well as the other BiH entity, Republika Srpska, allocate the least for agricultural incentives in the entire region, and beyond, even though BiH is an agricultural country.
Thus, out of the total European budget for 2016, amounting to 155 billion euros in commitments and 143.89 billion euros in payments, more than 55.3 billion euros will be allocated for rural development, fisheries, environmental protection, etc.
On the other hand, agricultural incentives in FBiH are very small, irregular, and most often go into the hands of middlemen who are not even involved in agriculture.
Croatian MEP Marijana Petir recently presented how the EU will strongly support environmental protection, agricultural development, and food waste reduction in the coming years.
At the same time, according to experts, the entity governments in BiH are pushing farmers and villages to the margins of poverty, writes NAP.
