KM 65,700,000 for agricultural subsidies

The Government of the Federation of BiH, at today's session in Sarajevo, adopted the Decision on adopting the Program of expenditure with criteria for distribution of funds "Subsidies to private companies and entrepreneurs - incentive for agriculture" determined by the FBiH Budget for 2017 to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry in the amount of KM 65,700,000.

Of this amount, KM 10,400,000 is allocated for crop production incentives, KM 52,200,000 for animal production, KM 2,300,000 for the capital investment model, while KM 300,000 is planned for other types of support, and KM 500,000 for court rulings and appeals based on decisions.

The Program of financial support in agriculture and rural development for 2017 will implement priority measures of financial support through production incentives and part of the structural policy measures that should contribute to the improvement of agricultural production and increase in the use of agricultural land with the aim of strengthening competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets.

Furthermore, the measures are aimed at increasing the supply of domestic agricultural products, while improving the quality of their health and hygiene compliance with consumer demands, as well as ensuring stable agricultural income and enabling an adequate standard of living for agricultural producers. Ultimately, the measures should contribute to the gradual harmonization and integration of the agricultural sector into the EU and the global market.

At today's session, the Government also adopted the Program of expenditure with criteria for distribution of funds "Subsidies to private companies and entrepreneurs - incentive for veterinary medicine" determined by the Federal Budget for 2017 to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry in the amount of KM 2,400,000.

This program includes funding for the implementation of measures to prevent the spread and eradication of infectious diseases.
