Sarajevo police removed seven drunk drivers from traffic in less than three hours last night

(Patria) - Conducting intensified activities of controlling traffic participants, vehicles, and drivers, police officers of the Novo Sarajevo Police Administration carried out the "Leavaka" operation, in the period from 00:30 to 03:00 hours, in Zmaja od Bosne and Bulevar Meše Selimovića streets.

A total of 98 vehicles and drivers were checked, and 26 violation reports were issued for violating the provisions of the Law on Road Traffic Safety in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After alcohol tests, seven drivers were removed from traffic due to driving under the influence of alcohol.

For one of the drivers, it was determined that he was driving while his driving ban was in effect, and after an alcohol test, 1.62 per mille of alcohol in his blood was detected, and he was detained in official premises for sobering up.

The Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton will continue to carry out planned activities in the coming period with the aim of increasing the safety level of all traffic participants.
