Xi Jinping: China proposes establishing a global organization for AI cooperation

(Patria) - China proposes to the international community the establishment of a global organization for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), said Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, TASS reported.

"China proposes the establishment of a global organization for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence to provide public goods in the field of AI to the international community," he said.

According to Xi Jinping, "China is ready to cooperate with APEC member states to jointly improve public literacy in the field of AI and bridge the gap between digital and smart technologies in the Asia-Pacific region."

"Today, the new technological revolution and industrial transformation are advancing significantly, opening new prospects for human society," he noted.

"At the same time, the global economy is facing insufficient growth momentum, a growing global development deficit, and worsening challenges such as climate change, food security, and energy security," he added.

The Chinese leader emphasized that the economies of the region need to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, seize new opportunities, jointly face challenges, and create a sustainable and better future.

He also stressed the need to leverage APEC's traditional strengths in economic and technical cooperation to help developing countries achieve balanced development.
