Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in BiH, said at a press conference that exports from BiH in the first four months of 2017 increased by 12.5 percent, attributing this to the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), which BiH signed with the EU two years ago.
Wigemark reminded that the SAA is an international agreement that regulates trade and other relations between BiH and the European Union. It is very important, he added, that both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, as well as entity parliaments, cantonal assemblies, and the Brčko District legislative body, develop good relations and cooperation with the European Parliament as well as the national parliaments of EU member states due to their role in the process of Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to the European Union.
BiH exported a record nearly KM 1 billion in goods and services to the EU market in March, which is more than 29 percent of the country's annual exports, writes NAP.
