WAIPA-FIPA: Regional Meeting within the Mostar International Economy Fair

The World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies WAIPA, in cooperation with the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BiH (FIPA), organized a regional meeting in Mostar yesterday on the topic: "Experiences and Challenges in Attracting Foreign Direct Investment; Optimal Use of Post-Investment Support Programs in the Process of Attracting Foreign Direct Investment”, it was announced from FIPA, reports the Patria News Agency.

The meeting was organized to exchange experiences and best global practices in the process of attracting investments and to strengthen regional cooperation between investment promotion agencies and relevant institutions.

Within the meeting, a panel discussion was held with the participation of representatives from the Investment Promotion Agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Tatarstan, and the World Bank Group. Gordan Milinić, Stamen Yanev, Furkan Karakaya, Minulina Taliya Ilgizovna, and Tarik Šahović spoke about their approaches and work in attracting foreign investments, as well as their vision for improving activities in the aforementioned area.  

World Bank representative William Mut presented the Enhanced Post-Investment Support Program for Foreign Investors, as well as information on establishing a Cooperation Network in BiH for supporting foreign investors, while FIPA representative Adrijana Marić presented FIPA's experiences in implementing the Aftercare program developed by the World Bank Group in BiH in cooperation with the Agency.

The executive director of WAIPA, Boštjan Skalar, and the representative of the Mostar International Economy Fair, Oliver Cvitković, spoke at the conference.

Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, the Investment Promotion Agency of Malta, the World Bank Group, relevant ministries of BiH, FBiH, RS, cantonal ministries and municipalities, the Cooperation Network, business associations in BiH, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, and the Chinese province of Hebei attended the meeting, according to the statement.
