Vuletić's Initiative: Investigate Non-Payment of Contributions by Public Companies

Democratic Front representative in the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Davor Vuletić, has launched an initiative for the House of Representatives of this Parliament to issue a recommendation to the Prosecutor's Office of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, suggesting „that within its capacities and the laws governing its work in the upcoming period, it (the Prosecutor's Office) directs its activities towards initiating investigative proceedings in cases of non-payment of contributions to the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund and the Health Insurance Institute by public companies and public institutions of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as companies in which the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina holds a majority ownership“, reports the Patria news agency.

Representative Vuletić decided on this initiative guided by the following:

- respecting the demands of workers for the settlement of obligations towards the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund and the Health Insurance Institute of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and aware of the violation of workers' acquired rights guaranteed by the laws of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- bearing in mind the obligations of approximately 452.1 million BAM for linking work experience, which burden the Federation's budget, of which 53.2 million BAM is for 2016.
- this points to the responsibility of directors, management and supervisory boards of public companies and public institutions of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as companies in which the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina holds a majority ownership, which were appointed by the Federation Government to protect the interests of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- We consider this extremely important for restoring citizens' trust in the judiciary and system institutions, and it is relatively simple to obtain data on the outstanding obligations of the mentioned companies, as well as the responsible persons who, through negligent work in that period, caused millions in damages to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are necessary for assessing the factual situation and deciding on initiating proceedings, the DF stated.
