Vukadin is not building a coffin for Livno, he is sending HDZ and its crime to the graveyard

Written by: Ernad Metaj

Followers of HDZ president Dragan Čović have launched an attack on the Prime Minister of the Livno Canton, Ivan Vukadin, in recent days. This former HDZ member parted ways with the party due to the policies of Livno's HDZ iron lady Borjana Krišto, showing that she is not as unbreakable as her close associates and admirers, who were the only ones to benefit from her policies, believed.

Interestingly, Vukadin is not being charged with any scandals; HDZ wants to portray him as yet another illegitimate Croat because his newly founded Croatian National Movement (HNP) includes Bosniaks on its lists. Dragan Čović's policy does not suit having Emir, Ruki, Šemsudin, or Rama around Ivan. These are names appearing on HNP lists in the Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica-Doboj, and Una-Sana cantons.

In the wake of fascist ideas, these people are the pretext for wishing for a "legitimate" easy Croatian land where their children can play. Croats are figuratively being frightened by the claim that the Livno region is increasingly approaching a coffin that will end up in a Muslim cemetery, and the nails in that coffin are Ivan Vukadin and the people gathered around him.

Those in the know understand that the uproar is being raised because Vukadin and his team are indeed nailing a coffin, but one for HDZ, which lost power in the Livno Canton. Vukadin managed to reconcile Livno and Duvno, uniting the shores of Buško Lake, from which the budget coffers of the canton and Livno municipalities began to be filled more, instead of the Croatian HEP. Vukadin always openly criticized Čović for the policy that favors Croatia in exploiting natural resources from BiH. The price was paid by the Croats of Livno and Duvno, as they received only crumbs from the electricity produced from the lake. With Vukadin's victory, local communities received more money from the lake. In the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, only HDZ politicians were not in favor of the interests of the Croats of Livno and Duvno.

Indirectly, HDZ's media attackers, by unconsciously attacking Vukadin, delegitimized the HNS as the umbrella body of united Croats in BiH. By crucifying Vukadin, as well as politicians from HDZ 1990, a clear message was sent that there is no unity, that it never existed. Everyone was pretending to avoid the fierce harangue of the media, which are mostly under HDZ's control, always ready to declare anyone who does not think like Dragan Čović and Borjana Krišto a traitor to the Croats.

HDZ's fear that due to the unity of HNP and HDZ 1990, they will have less influence in the State Parliament after the elections is justified. The crack that split HDZ in the Livno Canton threatens to turn into a hole that will irreversibly suck in the policy painted as straightening a river so the president could enjoy his "modest" estate near Radobolja.

Moreover, Vukadin and others outsmarted HDZ by loudly supporting Borjana Krišto's candidacy for the BiH Presidency. They, like Čović, are aware that Krišto has been sacrificed, thus stripping Čović of any argument to blame the defeat on a part of the "legitimate" Croats who do not accept unity according to the HNS recipe, which only strengthens HDZ's position.

The hypocrisy of HDZ's policy has also been read by social media users, who were not fooled by the story about Bosniaks on the HNP list. They reminded HDZ's media attackers of the delegate in the House of Peoples, Goran Opsenica, and Minister Zora Dujmović, who are "legitimate" even though they are Serbs. HDZ is scared, that is now certain. The problem is not just Bosniaks; Vukadin has won once and could do so again.
