(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said there is a possibility that he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on the evening of May 9.
Vučić, as previously announced, will attend the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on May 9, marking the end of World War II, at the invitation of the Russian president.
- I can announce a gathering in Niš on May 10 or 11, because on the 9th (of May), if I am there, it might happen that on the evening of the 9th I have a meeting with Putin about everything, including gas and oil and everything else - he said during a press conference in Pioneer Park in Belgrade.
In his address to the public on Wednesday, Vučić stated that he is under great pressure due to the decision to attend the Victory Day Parade in Moscow, but that he has not changed his decision.
- A period of immense diplomatic activity is coming, as well as great pressure regarding the Victory Day Parade on May 9 in Moscow, 80 years since the victory over fascism, in which I and one unit of the Serbian Army have announced our participation. I don't know what others will decide, whether the Army can withstand the pressure, but I have not changed my decision as of this moment. I am ready for the whole sky to fall on my head - said Vučić two days after the EU warned European and foreign officials that Brussels would not take lightly visits to Moscow on the occasion of Victory Day.
The Serbian president held a press conference after distributing Easter eggs to students who wish to study, on the occasion of the Christian holiday of Good Friday, ahead of Easter which is celebrated this weekend.
