Vučić: Karadžić's verdict does not mean the abolition of Republika Srpska

(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated today that the verdict against former President of Republika Srpska Radovan Karadžić by the Hague Tribunal, by which he was sentenced to life imprisonment for genocide and other crimes in BiH, does not mean the abolition of Republika Srpska.

"Those who fantasize that the verdict can mean the abolition of Republika Srpska, my answer is that RS is a Dayton and constitutional category, and in accordance with the Dayton Agreement, one of the guarantors of its implementation is Serbia, and there will be no abolition of RS, and that is the central and most important issue, and that is Serbia's reaction," Vučić told reporters in Novi Sad when asked about his stance on the verdict, Beta reported.

He said that his stance regarding the first-instance verdict against Karadžić has not changed and that he believes it is important for Serbia to look to the future and its own development and consider how to build its strength both politically and economically.
