SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mirko Šarović, told reporters in Sarajevo today that in the next few days he will talk with a delegation from the Russian Federation, when he will try to get Bosnia and Herzegovina a third chance to export apples to that country.
Companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina have been banned from exporting apples to the market of the Russian Federation since today. Russian authorities informed the competent BiH bodies about the ban on importing apples from BiH to Russia from January 22.
The reason for the ban on apple exports from BiH is that one company from Republika Srpska placed apples from Poland on the Russian market.
Due to this ban, fruit growers from BiH will suffer huge damage, it was said during the press conference.
The Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed for the Patria news agency that BiH exported apples worth 18,056,808 KM to the Russian Federation in 11 months of 2017.
