The HJPC Appointed Gordana Tadić to Act as Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office

The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) made a decision at an extraordinary telephone session held on 28 September 2016 that Gordana Tadić will perform the duties of the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the period when the Chief Prosecutor Goran Salihović is prevented from performing this function, it was announced from the HJPC, writes Patria.

Gordana Tadić will be replacing the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Goran Salihović, until the disciplinary proceedings against him are concluded, and from which the First Instance Disciplinary Commission has temporarily suspended him from performing the duties of the Chief Prosecutor and a prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office as of 29 September 2016.

Gordana Tadić is the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Head of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Tadić has 20 years of prosecutorial experience, of which two years as the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina. When making the decision, prosecutorial experience, as well as leadership experience in the position of Deputy Chief Prosecutor, were taken into account.

The decision of the HJPC BiH is based on Article 5 of the Law on the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, by which the HJPC BiH determines which of the Deputy Chief Prosecutors will perform the duties in case of his inability to do so.
