Very unhealthy air in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica: Possible negative health consequences

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to measurements at 9 PM, the air quality index in Sarajevo is 228 and very unhealthy. PM10 measurements show a value of 209. At all five measuring units (Otoka, Vijećnica, Bjelave, US Embassy, Ilidža), high pollution values were measured. When the value exceeds 300, the air will fall into the dangerous category. 

Ekoakcija stated that significant exacerbation of symptoms and intensity of the disease is possible in people with respiratory illnesses such as asthma. Increased probability of negative consequences for the respiratory organs of the entire population.

People with lung and heart diseases, pregnant women, children, and the elderly must avoid any activities while outdoors. And everyone else should avoid prolonged or strenuous exertion while outdoors!

The air is also unhealthy in Tuzla with an air quality index of 236 measured at the BKC measuring station.

The air quality index in Zenica is slightly lower, where the air falls into the unhealthy category. The air is also unhealthy in Lukavac, and the situation is slightly better in Goražde.
