Valuable pedunculate oak from the "Ciljuge" barracks will be donated to "Konjuh"

The Federal Government has given consent to the Mayor of the Municipality of Živinice to submit a request to the Cantonal Forestry Administration of Tuzla Canton for the felling of high-quality pedunculate oak trees in the "Ciljuge" barracks for the purpose of donating this wood to the furniture factory "Konjuh", writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Although this municipality cannot yet speak about the quantities of wood involved, nor its market value, they believe it will be of great benefit to the Živinice furniture factory.
"Konjuh" is one of the most famous furniture manufacturing companies from BiH, but the company in recent years, according to the management, has been having business problems due to the poor attitude of the authorities towards it.

Patria's interlocutors say that the donation of this timber mass to "Konjuh" will be a true example of a responsible attitude towards state property.

Admir Suljić, general director of "Konjuh", stated in an interview for Patria that if "Konjuh" indeed receives this donation, the factory he leads will certainly not use the donation solely for the needs of "Konjuh", but will donate a portion in the form of parquet or similar material to other institutions.

- We don't want it all for ourselves. We will try to donate at least a part for the renovation and improvement of other institutions - Suljić told NAP.

The high-quality pedunculate oak trees in the "Ciljuge" barracks, as confirmed by NAP's interlocutors, have been drying out in recent years due to the drying of the terrain where the forest is located. If the authorities do not cut them down, they will completely dry out and decay within a few years.

Pedunculate oak wood is among the high-quality woods, from which expensive flooring and furniture are made worldwide. It grows up to 40 meters tall, and its trunk diameter can reach up to three meters. It grows predominantly in marshy areas, writes Patria.
