(Patria) - Today, the Supreme Court in Sarajevo definitively acquitted the suspected MUP USK members for the murder of Cvijan Radić. Radić was killed in 1997.
In 2014, six members of MUP USK were sentenced to 31 years and eight months in prison, but the Supreme Court of FBiH overturned that verdict and returned the case for retrial.
In May 2019, the Council of the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, presided over by judge Husein Delalić, after a majority vote, delivered a verdict rejecting the charges against the six accused from Bihać due to the statute of limitations.
The prosecution appealed to the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a main hearing was held before this court in 2022. Today, the final decision in this case was made, rejecting the charges against Asmir Bakrač, Fuad Poprženović, Husein Kunić, Halid Velagić, Izet Šahinović, and Ejub Ikić in the 'Cvijan Radić' case.
They can no longer be tried in connection with this case as they have been definitively acquitted.
