SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Minister of Health of Sarajevo Canton, Prof. Dr. Haris Vranić, visited today the Director of the Public Institution Health Center KS, Doc. Dr. Sci. Abel Baltić. The meeting was also attended by the chief technician of the mentioned institution, Dr. Sci. Zdr. Nauka Ademir Spahić.
On this occasion, issues concerning the improvement of primary healthcare were discussed. In addition to the above, all issues related to the functioning of this level of healthcare during the fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic were considered, given that it bore the largest influx of patients in the previous wave.
It should be emphasized that the Government of Sarajevo Canton has approved this institution to hire five doctors of medicine, 15 nurses, and five radiological diagnostic engineers for an indefinite period, as a replacement for employees who retired in previous years, as adequate replacements were not engaged, which will facilitate the work process of this institution in the conditions of a worsening epidemiological situation in Sarajevo Canton.
The hiring of additional medical staff will also be planned in the coming period. It is important to point out that this institution has secured financial resources for the employment of these workers.
Particular emphasis was placed on the process of providing healthcare to the school-aged population. The possibility of increasing the number of absences that parents can justify for children at school during this wave, without additional visits to the health system, was also discussed. Minister Vranić will propose this at the next session of the KS Government.
It was concluded that this institution, as well as all other healthcare institutions in KS, is ready for the fourth wave, with an appeal to the citizens of Sarajevo Canton to take the seriousness of the situation seriously and, accordingly, to respect all hygiene and epidemiological measures in force. The KS Health Center, in all its organizational units, except for the Center Health Center, is continuously vaccinating the citizens of Sarajevo Canton, and together with the Ministry of Health of KS, calls on citizens to get vaccinated in order to preserve their health and the health of those around them, as well as to preserve the healthcare system in Sarajevo Canton.
