(Patria) – 30 spectators of the carnival in the German town of Volkmarsen, including children, were injured when a man violently drove a vehicle into the crowd.
The driver of the car is a German citizen (29) who was arrested at the scene.
Some of the victims of the attack are in life-threatening condition.
An investigation is underway, focusing particularly on the background of the act.
The incident occurred on the so-called Rosenmontag (Rose Monday), which is celebrated with carnivals throughout Germany.
The police are also investigating a possible connection with the attacks on shisha bars in Hanau less than a week ago, reports Euronews.
