Driver hits and kills pedestrian in Sarajevo, flees scene

(Patria) - A fatal traffic accident occurred in Sarajevo's Smaila Šikala street at 19:35 when an unidentified driver hit a pedestrian and then fled the scene.

The information was confirmed to N1 by the Operational Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, and it was stated that another pedestrian was injured and is receiving medical attention at the General Hospital Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš in Sarajevo.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that the deceased pedestrian was an elderly man, but his identity has not yet been confirmed.

Police officers are at the scene conducting an investigation, and the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton found the fleeing driver shortly after 9 PM in the area of Novi Grad Municipality.
