(Patria) - A truck driver hit a customs booth at the Bijača border crossing near Ljubuški today, slightly injuring a border police officer.
- The driver, while crossing the border, had rear contact with the customs facility on the BiH side. Significant material damage occurred.
A customs officer who was in the facility was slightly injured - spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of West Herzegovina Canton, Mila Ćavar, told Radio Free Europe.
The international border crossing Bijača, between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, was opened at the beginning of 2016 as the first border crossing with full inspection supervision, which enabled the export of plant and animal products from BiH to the EU.
Recently, this border crossing was connected to the highway on Corridor Vc leading towards Mostar when the bridge near Počitelj was opened on September 4th after years of delay.
On the Croatian side, the Dalmatina highway leads from the crossing towards Split and further towards Zagreb, and it was built in 2013.
