Efforts are being made to salvage what can be salvaged so that production can start as soon as possible. We are optimistic. Five hundred volunteers are cleaning Natron-Hayat and it is proceeding, said Mehmed Mustabašić, Mayor of Maglaj Municipality.
- I cannot say that work will resume soon, but we hope it will be alright. The owner of Natron is also optimistic – said Mustabašić.
We remind you that the floods that have engulfed Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent days have left immeasurable consequences. One such case is Maglaj, where the water reached a depth of up to two meters on Thursday. At that time, workers at the Natron-Hayat factory experienced a real drama, after being trapped for more than 72 hours until they were evacuated, writes the BiH news agency Patria. After the water receded, huge amounts of silt, mud, and debris remained, which entered all facilities affected by the floods, writes Patria.
