Hezbollah leader: Assassination of Hamas's second-in-command will not go unpunished

(Patria) - The leader of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, described the assassination of Hamas deputy chief Saleh al-Arouri in Beirut as "dangerous".

- This is the first time something like this has happened since 2006 - when there was a war between Hezbollah and Israel - Nasrallah said.

In a speech in Lebanon, he addressed the Israeli Minister of Defense, saying that he "will not be able to achieve his war goals", reports RSE.

- We are not afraid of war. Those who think of going to war with us will regret it. War with us will come at a very high price - he added.

He emphasized that if Israel goes to war against Lebanon, there will be no limits or rules for fighting Hezbollah.

- Yesterday's crime (the assassination of Saleh al-Arouri) will not go unpunished - he stated at the end of his speech.

Israel has long considered Hezbollah the biggest threat along its borders. The 2006 war in Lebanon killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and 157 Israelis, mostly soldiers.
