Council of Ministers considered 300 materials, adopted the Framework Budget Document for 2023-2025.

(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at today's session in Sarajevo, considered about 300 materials among more than 160 agenda items and unanimously adopted the Framework Budget Document (FBD) of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2023 - 2025.

The Framework Budget Document of BiH Institutions for the period 2023 - 2025 will be harmonized with the Global Fiscal Balance and Policies Framework in BiH for the same period, after it is adopted by the BiH Fiscal Council. This document contains the medium-term budget framework of BiH institutions and the preliminary draft budget of BiH institutions for 2023, along with preliminary expenditure estimates for 2024 and 2025.

According to the FBD, the total financing framework for BiH institutions for 2023 amounts to BAM 1,275,400,000, of which indirect tax financing is BAM 1,020,500,000. At the same time, preliminary expenditures for BiH institutions for 2024 are given at BAM 1,254,200,000, and for 2025, the framework estimates are BAM 1,251,300,000. The Framework Budget Document, among other things, prioritizes support for the continuation of reforms related to meeting the conditions for European Partnership, further implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), and securing funds for the implementation of local elections in 2024, as well as the necessary funds for the implementation of multi-year projects of budget users and improving the material status of employees in BiH institutions during this period.

In this way, space is opened for the Ministry of Finance and Treasury to prepare the Draft Law on the Budget of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and BiH's International Obligations for 2023 and submit it for determination to the Council of Ministers of BiH, for further submission to the Presidency of BiH, which is authorized to propose it to the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, which ultimately adopts it.
