Authorities in Sarajevo Canton Cause New Damage to Citizens and Economy!

A group of demonstrators in Sarajevo has been blocking traffic in the center of Sarajevo for the 23rd day in a row, causing traffic collapse. Neither the cantonal authorities nor the police in the capital city are still able, despite the letters they send each other shifting responsibility, to resolve the problem of demonstrations, reports the BH News Agency Patria (NAP).

At the same time, protests held in other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina do not cause nearly as much material damage and insecurity among citizens, nor is public order and peace disturbed and the law violated.

According to the information of the NAP agency, business entities from the center of Sarajevo are calculating damages due to daily traffic blockades, there are almost no tourists, and trade in the central city streets has been halved. Only at the end of the first quarter of this year will it be known how much financial damage has been caused, in addition to the burning of state institutions, by the daily blockades of Sarajevo.

The Government of Sarajevo Canton has not provided the demonstrators with a location where they can demonstrate without causing enormous financial damage and disturbing public order and peace, expressing their dissatisfaction.

The police, led by the Minister of Internal Affairs Nermin Pećanac and Commissioner Vahid Ćosić, have shown helplessness, and the ruling political structures in the Sarajevo Canton, which are most responsible for the poor situation in the canton, show no intention of doing their job.
