Owner of "Manja" bakeries endangered business due to views on war criminals

(Patria) - The owner of the "Manja" bakery chain, Saša Trivić, endangered his business in Sarajevo due to messages he posted on Twitter.

The day after Radovan Karadžić, the first president of the Bosnian entity Republika Srpska, was sentenced to life imprisonment for genocide in Srebrenica, as well as other crimes, including shelling and sniping civilians in Sarajevo, Trivić wrote on Twitter that no one could force him to defend Karadžić, because, he said, he had personal reasons for it, but he stated that he would not allow anyone to call him a genocidal person or to live in a genocidal creation.

 

You will not force me to defend Karadžić (I have personal reasons) but if you tell me that I am genocidal or that I live in a genocidal creation and I don't tell you to fuck off, it won't work.

Trivić's messages from 2016, in which he expressed support for Ratko Mladić, who was also convicted in the first instance by the Hague Tribunal for "spreading terror among the civilian population of Sarajevo and conducting a campaign of sniping and shelling," were soon published on social networks.

"The one and only," Trivić wrote in 2016, along with a photo showing Mladić among others.

Due to such views held by Trivić, several citizens called on social networks to boycott Trivić's bakery, as well as his products in retail chains.

Trivić rejected the accusations, stating that the messages were taken out of context and that the campaign was directed against his business.
